Your comfortable stay is complemented by delicious home cooked breakfasts, lunches and a three course dinner, great SA wines and beers, fresh coffee and visitor entry fees.

This three day experience combines our one day Wilderness Wildlife, Wilderness Wildscapes and South Coast tours.

Day 1- Wilderness wildlife tour

The day begins with a meet and greet at selected Kangaroo Island accommodation or upon arrival at Kingscote Airport. Then we set off to Seal Bay Conservation Park. There’s no waiting around for scheduled public tour times when on our tour. You’ll head straight down and wander through the seal colony with our experienced, accredited conservation guide, learning how these impressive creatures survive the rigour of the Southern Ocean.

Then you’ll journey further south and enjoy a pleasant, easy walk through the bush, coming out at the base of Kangaroo Island’s spectacular and vast sand dunes of Little Sahara. Climb the dunes and enjoy stunning views of distant bays and the serene, rural landscape.

From the South Coast, we’ll traverse the rural areas of the middle of the island via the Kangaroo Island Wildlife and Rescue Park. This park was set up as an ‘animal refuge’, where sick, injured, orphaned or unwanted animals could find a home. You’ll marvel at the colours of the Australian birds, pat a koala and feed a kangaroo. Your delicious lunch will be a picnic of marinated chicken and fresh salads, complemented by a selection of beverages. For dessert, you can indulge in some tangy lemon tart.

Next, we’ll enjoy the north coast beaches of Snellings and Stokes Bay, which are perfect for a leisurely stroll. Enjoy the sound of waves breaking on the pristine sandy coast, or if the weather allows, go for a swim in some of the clearest water you will ever experience.

Travelling along the north coast we’ll seek out koalas and kangaroos near Lathami Conservation Park and take in the stunning coastal views.

The first day’s touring concludes with your return to your island accommodation.

Highlights include

  • Walk among the sea lions at Seal Bay
  • Explore Flinders Chase National Park including Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks
  • Feed kangaroos and hold a koala at the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park and Rescue Centre
  • Feast on a lunch of local produce in stunning bush locations
  • See the stunning north coast beaches
  • Explore the east end of Kangaroo Island
  • Climb Cape Willoughby Lighthouse
  • Experience a eucalyptus distillery or honey farm
  • See the pelican feeding

DAY 2- Wilderness Wildscapes Tour

Today your guide will meet you at your selected island accommodation. Along the way to your first attraction, we may call past KI airport to collect new guests.

We’ll then visit Rocky River, the headquarters of Flinders Chase National Park, where you may see koalas and kangaroos laze and Cape Barren geese graze, along with many other bird, reptile and animals species.

Within Flinders Chase is Admirals Arch, an impressive, ancient limestone formation on the ocean which has survived against the elements. The natural structure in itself is awe-inspiring, but you’ll also get to witness the active colony of the New Zealand fur seals, who frolic and play here.

Remaining in the national park, we’ll travel to Remarkable Rocks, via the spectacular coastline of Cape du Couedic. Here the forces of nature have carved extraordinary sculptures out of the granite. You’ll get the chance to walk amongst these huge pieces of natural art and take some impressive photos.

Prior to your lunch, you’ll take a short bushwalk searching for the echidna (spiny ant-eater) and observing the colourful Crimson Rosella.

For lunch you’ll have a delicious traditional Australian BBQ with potatoes, fresh salads, local KI wines and other refreshments. For dessert spoil yourself by indulging in our special pears poached in KI red wine. You’ll enjoy all this served in the bush, whilst nestled amongst the beautiful tall Gum trees.

After your meal, it’s time to say hello to some koalas, Tammar wallabies, kangaroos and if you’re lucky, an echidna.

Next stop is Vivonne Bay, awarded the best beach in the world, with its white sands and crystal clear turquoise water. Take in the majestic scenery of Point Ellen where you can collect shells on the beach and possibly see a penguin in its rookery.

Your day will end on a relaxing note, so enjoy resting on the scenic route as your driver returns you to your island accommodation or airport departure.

Day 3- Wilderness island culture

Pick up from your accommodation and travel the Eastern End of the Island. See the spectacular rugged beaches on the Southern coast and then see kangaroos in the wild up a winding limestone track, just outside the Pelican Lagoon Marine Sanctuary.

Take in breathtaking panoramic views over Pelican Lagoon and beyond, from the top of Prospect Hill. We’ll then drive through to Cape Willoughby and view or climb its historic lighthouse set against the backdrop of southern facing cliffs and the mainland on the horizon.

Lunch is enjoyed in either our private bush site near Antechamber Bay or in the shady tea trees at Chapman River.

Depending on your interest, we have the option to visit the new False Cape Wines cellar door. We’ll hear from the winemaker about their wines and family connections to the island while trying a tasting of award-winning Kangaroo Island wine under the shade of the tall gum trees.

The Eucalyptus Distillery was one of the island’s first industries, run by one of the oldest Kangaroo Island families. It’s a great place to experience some island history and if you’re lucky, you may also see a baby native animal that they are caring for.

Then we’ll move onto Clifford’s Honey Farm to taste one of KI’s most sought-after, famed products. The rare pure strain of Ligurian bee, that now calls Kangaroo Island home, produces some of the sweetest unique honey available in the world.

At the end of the day we’ll transfer you back to your accommodation or to the airport for your travel back to Adelaide.

NOTE: The order of Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 may be reversed.
